Four Book Giveaways on Facebook

I held two book giveaway competitions on Facebook in May 2023, and another two the first week of June. The winners were all drawn from my top hat in keeping with the historical themes of my two books, Jack the Ripper? and The Lion Hotel.

UK Crime Book Club (Facebook group with 25.4K members) (Draw Tues. 9/5/2023): To celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. Group members were asked to comment and say why they wanted to win a copy of my book. The winner, from a grand draw of over 100 entrants, was chosen at random and received a signed copy of my book Jack the Ripper? a bookmark, postcard, and mini book. Thank you to admin Lucy Sampson.

Jack the Ripper … Books and More (Facebook group with 1.3K members) (Draw Sat. 13/5/2023): I held the competition to tie in with the Eurovision Song Contest and the fact that the prize was open to not just UK entrants. Group members left a comment to say where they were from and their preferred Jack the Ripper suspect. The winner, chosen at random, received a signed copy of my book Jack the Ripper? a bookmark, postcard, and Ripper-themed beermat. Thank you to admin Amanda Lloyd.

Jack the Ripper (Facebook group with 8.2K members) (Draw Wed. 7/6/2023): The purpose of this draw was to hold one on the largest of the Jack the Ripper groups on Facebook. Group members were asked to comment to say what the last Jack the Ripper book they had read was. It was a useful exercise in creating a list of further reading for myself and other group members. The winner, chosen at random, is to receive a signed copy of my book Jack the Ripper? a bookmark, and postcard. Thank you to admin Tom Wescott.

UK Crime Book Club (Facebook group with 25.4K members) (Draw Wed. 7/6/2023): This was to allow crime fiction readers from this same group the chance to also win a copy of my debut book The Lion Hotel. In keeping with the book’s hotel setting, I asked group members to name their favourite hotel. Mine, of course, is The Lion Hotel where I set the book. This is because of the golden lion above the door, dating to 1777, its long history as a coaching inn, and the fact that novelist Charles Dickens stayed there on two occasions. The winner, chosen at random, is to receive a signed hardback copy of my book and a bookmark. Thank you to admin Lucy Sampson.

Congratulations to all the competition winners!
